Meet Sinclair (F03)
Young male golden eagle Sinclair (F03) has been named and adopted by Moffat Mountain Rescue team. His name is a tribute to Dr Hugh Sinclair who helped to establish the organisation in 1969 following a number of serious accidents in the Moffat Hills.
Iona (C24) is a big, beautiful female Golden Eagle, the largest and heaviest bird we’ve released so far, weighing in at a whopping 4.8kg (the honour previously belonging to Beaky C11).
Earlier this year, project manager Cat Barlow appeared on a programme for NVTV entitled 'Nature's Haven'.

One of the goals of the South of Scotland Golden Eagle Project is to raise awareness about the translocation process and the fieldwork involved. We have been keen to try and show you exactly what we do when collecting the chicks and how we care for them in the aviaries.
Young male A31 known as ‘Tarras’ is easily identifiable by his ‘headlight markings’. These distinctive white markings on his shoulders make him stand out and present as bright headlights when seen from head on. These particular plumage qualities will likely fade with age.
