The Wright Strokes #5 - Sketches from Eagle Country
Lockdown Daily Blog #47 - The latest edition of The Wright Strokes follows C09 (Edward) hunting rabbits on a huge warren in the South of Scotland. John describes Edward's hunting technique below:
'C09 would cross the area quickly then stoop at a Rabbit as they ran for their burrows. He would land next to a hole and peer inside for a few minutes before leaving the area for 20 minutes or so before returning.'
Eagle People Profiles - Gabriela Peniche
This week's Eagle People Profile features Gabriela Peniche, a researcher at the University of Edinburgh. One of her many roles is to assess the health of wild raptors, including Golden Eagles, throughout Scotland.
Today's Lockdown Library recommendation comes from the Project's Administrative Assistant Sarah Plint who shares one of her favourie books, The Living Mountain by Nan Shepherd.
With so many people enjoying the beautiful Lockdown weather in their gardens it's not surprising that we are receiving a steady stream of raptor related sightings from eagle-eyed members of the public.
